With 2011 Beginning...
A blessed and happy New Year to all!
WIth 2011 now well underway, I wanted to take a moment to update readers on what is going on with me, and about my plans for this blog.
First, as most of probably know, our little parish, Saint Boniface, has gotten off to a very positive start in our new location in Franklin, Indiana. We are hoping to begin a Catechism program in a few weeks, and to begin regular Sunday morning Eucharistic liturgies in early March.
We are beginning Year A of the three year Sunday lectionary this year, with our focus on Matthew's Gospel. We are using the recent Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod's rescension of the Lectionary for Ordinary Time, as the readings are selected to support thematic preaching. I am currently working on a daily prayer book as well.
In my personal life, my daughter is now 14 months old, toddling everywhere, getting into everything without a lock, and is brining overwhelming joy to Kristen and I. In the next few weeks I will be beginning my active volunteering for CareNet Crisis Pregnancy Centers of Central Indiana, with a goal of working with men who are facing paternity. I am very nervous about this, but also excited at the same time. Please be praying for me in this ministry.
I remain at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis as my full time ministry, and continue to be blessed there, day in and day out.
I continue to review books for TrekMovie.com... look for my next review in the coming days. I am also planning to write my first review for worldviewchurch.org, Chuck Colson's resource site for pastors. I will be reviewing The Revised Grail Psalms, which began shipping on Monday from GIA Publications.
I am still giving consideration with how to best use this blog... but I do intend to at least post on a weekly basis moving forward. Of course, as they say... best laid plans!
Blessings to you and yours in this new year!
